The interaction designer will participate in design projects of various kinds, ranging from mobile and web design to designing the user interface for heavy machinery. At the same time, one part of the consultant’s role is to find creative and practical ways in which to develop the interaction design methods. As part of Idean, he or she will be part of the leading User Experience design, research and consultancy companies in the world.
Passion to be the best in one’s own line of work is a must.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility of creating world class mobile and web UI designs
- Taking the leadership role in or providing consultation for design projects
- Developing internal methods & practices for interaction design and plan future enhancements to Idean services
- Creation of high quality UI flows, UI trees, UI maps, wireframes, navigation designs and similar
- Co-operate with other members of a team, create cohesion between different stages in the UE design process

Qualifications
- Energetic, innovative, creative and positive attitude even in tight schedules
- Understand project requirements and promote user-centered design in all phases of the development process
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on work designing and specifying fascinating UI’s for mobile applications and web-based applications.
- Understand interaction design processes and the complete UE process from gathering requirements and user needs to graphical design finalization
- Education in Human Computer Interaction, Design, Human Factors OR ability to display formal understanding of design and HCI theory and practice
- Proper hands-on understanding of technologies used to build mobile and web solutions (Action Script, (X)HTML/CSS, DHTML, Javascript). Final code creation is not a must.
- Interested in working with all kinds of user interfaces, including those used in traditional industry
- Willingness to travel if needed
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Noteworthy practical experience with tools such Visio, Adobe Creative Suite and/or similar
Desired extra qualifications
- Experience in Symbian coding is a big plus
- Experience in process development is a plus
- Experience performing user research, including developing usability test plans, moderating tests and analyzing results, is considered a plus
Positions are full time. Positions are located in Finland; Espoo & Tampere, China: Shanghai.
