Fastems is a supplier of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) and robot cells for the metal cutting industry.
When Fastems approached us, they wanted to take a leap into the future for their station commander software and create a sleek, enjoyable and professional tool that is focused on daily working routines.

MemberPlanet
Community service
Memberplanet is an established startup offering exhaustive online tools for group management.
When they came to us, Memberplanet had an existing web service with extremely powerful tools for group management, such as homepage creation, form building, payment handling, fundraising, event creation, and email campaigns. Such a variety of complex functionality within a single service is a tough challenge for the end-users, who manage groups ranging from 2 to 1,000,000 members.
Based on user-research and client requests, we set out to simplify the existing service by creating a unified interaction model for the core functionalities, as well as concepting a new feed-page where group administrators can track all activity within their group. We also created a new visual style for the service, making it unique and fresh.
Through our work, Memberplanet became much easier to approach for the user, yet it still retains all of the powerful functionalities that the group managers find valuable.

Sandvik
Engineering group in tooling, materials technology, mining and construction
Sandvik is an engineering group in tooling, materials technology, mining and construction.
One of our goals as a company is to design products that are innovative and energy efficient. A brilliant example of this is our industrial client Sandvik, who needed the user interface designed on their crusher, Vibrocone. The project began in Tampere, Finland, where Idean had already worked with Sandvik in platform level UI style development. Sandvik had experienced the benefits that we had delivered to them on previous projects and knew that our newest contributions and user centric working methods would again be a valuable asset in the design process.
The mining industry consumes about 5% of the world’s electrical energy. With its revolutionary technology the Vibrocone reduces energy usage up to 30%, thus making a huge contribution to the environment. We are proud of the part that we played in such an important product.

Web
FIM
Finance
FIM is a Finnish provider of investment services.
FIM wanted us to redesign their web service with the goals of making investing easier for their private customers and highlighting their active and transparent investing philosophy.
Thanks to FIM’s open attitude and solid groundwork, we were able to design a service that underscored their above-mentioned goals. In the visual layout, we left the figurative grey banking world and instead brought vivid colors, friskiness and a modern e-commerce style to the service’s look and feel.

After the product launch, the X-MET analyzer gained a lot of positive feedback among users: none of the competitors has anything like what we have created.

Tablet
Ilta-Sanomat

In addition, we provided a presentation on the key trends, device base forecasts and strategic issues in the Finnish tablet market.

Web
Kiosked
Content activation platform
Kiosked is currently one of the hottest startups in Finland. The company provides a content activation platform that turns any online content, images, videos and applications into interactive and viral storefronts.
The founders of Kiosked turned to Idean for our expertise in UI design. Our assignment was to create a visually appealing design in a user friendly way.
The starting point was to hide the service's complexity from its users. This was done by studying carefully the concept idea and by keeping the focus on customer perspective in the design process.
In addition to the user interface Idean provided design guidelines and the icon library for the service.

Web
Teosto
Copyright society
Teosto is a Finnish copyright society for composers.
We redesigned the concept and the visual appearance of Teosto’s new web service. The service now looks fresh and modern. Its structure is divided into three segments according to its user groups.

Martela
Interior solution designer and supplier
Martela designs and supplies interior solutions for working environments and public spaces. It is the largest company in its sector in Finland and one of the three largest in the Nordic countries.
Before the renewal, Martela’s website was dated, didn’t follow a linear thread and lacked consistency in its hierarchy and structure. Our challenge was to design a highly efficient site with a top-notch user experience. We updated the style and created a style guide to support future development. The modular block elements that were incorporated now offer the user relevant content and create a consistent look and feel.
The feedback from their customers has been excellent and Martela conveyed how pleased they were with our working methods and techniques.
We think that we achieved a modern, user friendly and consistent service that builds into Martela’s renowned brand.
