Case: User Experience of Product Portfolio
Our customer, a multinational industrial company with a large product portfolio, needed to achieve distinctive user experience in order to increase the market share and customer loyalty. The challenge was that the product portfolio was wide and varied, ranging from small portable handsets to large industrial units. As a result, a new user interface “Look and Feel” style was created for client’s product portfolio.
The project started with the collection of the user needs and requirements. The users in various countries were studied in real working conditions using the professional devices. The users were interviewed and the usage was observed by usability experts. The user requirements were then prioritized and the first interaction designs were sketched.
The final design was performed to two core applications. The work generated required material for the first version of the UI style guide.
The style guide was then further updated according to new requirements and needs related to other applications. The final UI style guide creates compact and practical guidelines for consistent, intuitive and attractive user experience. It is a guideline document framing and guiding design and implementation work of developers and designers.
The project was conducted with our design approach (IDA).
